Description:

Traditionally used on a ledge and braced door, a thumb latch set is a decorative door latch with a thumb shaped lever. When the thumb shaped lever is pressed down this operates a thumb bar which passes through the door, this lifts the latch bar on the opposite side causing it to open.

Our blacksmith thumblatches are hammered into shape from mild steel using the traditional manufacturing method of an anvil and fire.

Thumblatches are usually used in conjunction with a tee hinge on traditional plank doors.

Maximum door thickness: 55mm.

Supplied with matching SS wood screws.

Our pewter patina finish is forged from a durable base of steel and is a fine example of how our unique manufacturing techniques add further detail to the natural charm of metals. The process by which the contrasting textures of this finish are created results in a rich appearance that sits well in characterful, rustic homes but also offers a contemporary alterative in more modern settings.

This is my 2nd order of these thumblatches. Wonderfully hand crafted in Pewter, giving them a twist over the usual black variety. Look fabulous against our Oak Ledge & Brace Doors. Extremely satisfied with the product and the Company are very friendly with helpful staff.
