Authentic look, softer ends required but generally provide a good result.Review by: JohnPosted on: 10/09/2012
All as described. I have used on door which has three ledges were the end of the nails have passed through the ledge and boards and exit the thk by about 12mm. These were bent over in line with each other hooking the nails into place.. Problem as nails began to eject but his was solved by placing steel block under the rose heads on the work bench before bending nail tips over. Expected ends to be a little softer to assist the bending, I intend to heat ends of remaining nails to reduce the hardness for the next door. Holes were drilled through the boards and ledge to prevent wood splitting when driving the nails home..
they give a great authentic lookReview by: seasnotPosted on: 21/05/2012
I bought these nails to make three ledged oak doors using the clasping method for a bit of authenticity, as they where going in to a 17th/18th century farmhouse, and they look great the customer is over the moon with the look.
